Shoreview, MN ‐
As a wife and mother of 4, I joined Farrell’s in 2012 because even though I was spending a lot of time at a big box gym, I was not seeing the results I was looking for. Our lives were so busy and I needed to spend less time in the gym and see better results. In just 10 weeks, I started to see the results that I wanted to see. I found the kickboxing classes challenged me in a way I had not been challenged before and relieved a lot of daily stress. And combining the kickboxing with strength training I really started the journey to being in the best shape of my life. Shortly after becoming a FIT member I started instructing and now years later am so happy to be an owner of 3 great locations, Shoreview, Andover and Plymouth and part of this fantastic program.
Since I was a teenager, health and fitness has always been a big part of my life. Starting from youth sports then continuing as an adult and completing two marathons, several duathalons and biking the MS150, I have always remained active. Exercise and healthy eating play a large part of the way that my husband and I are raising our family. They are all active in sports and love to get them to play outside to keep them moving.
I have a degree in Management Information Systems and Entrepreneurship. Prior to opening our first FXB location I worked in the clinical department at Medtronic. My work was very close the patients that our devices were saving or improving quality of life of. In the gym, I get to take this a step further. One great phrase that tells the story of what we do is “Our goal is to not only add years to your life but also add life to your years.” We started our Farrell’s Family in 2013 and are excited to keep it growing. Helping great people improve their overall health, not only losing weight, reducing body fat but increasing confidence and getting rid of medications!
Our talented and dedicated team of instructors and coaches are ready to help you reach your health and fitness goals! Live life at Level 10!
I am a wife and mother of 4 children. I joined Farrell’s in summer session of 2011, looking to lose the final 20 pounds of baby weight. I wanted a new challenge beyond my running and my home workout videos, so I joined the local FXB gym. In the first couple of days at Farrell's I was hooked. I instantly fell in love with the program. Farrell's took me from being “kind of" in shape to being “really” in shape. MY 10 week and FIT transformation was amazing. Today, I am in the best shape of my entire life.
I am very passionate about preventative health, physical fitness, and nutrition. My professional background is in nursing. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree and 20 years of nursing, I have taken care of many patients in hospital ICU’s, dialysis, home care, and cancer centers. In those years the best lesson learned was: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
In 2013 I stepped away from the nursing unit and into Farrell's ownership to serve my true passion which is to impact on people's lives through fitness. The Farrell's program of Cardio Kickboxing, Strength Training and Nutrition had changed so many lives, I wanted to be a part of it. My career switch was nothing less than remarkable. I have the best job in the world! Helping people live a healthier lifestyle and reach their life at LEVEL 10 is a dream come true!
Since opening in 2013, I've heard several life changing stories from my students. Not only have they lost pounds and inches, they've been taken off of several medications, avoided surgeries, and feel healthier and stronger than they ever have in their lives. There is no greater reward than these life changing transformation stories. My goal is to offer the Level 10 Farrell's experience to as many people as I can!
It takes a team effort to create this environment for our students and members. I am very proud to lead such a talented and dedicated team here at Shoreview FXB. Myself along with our managers, instructors and coaches are ready to help you to take your life to Level 10!
Before I knew it, I was married with three beautiful - busy - children. Chasing kids became my focus. While I endeavored to do what I could - when I could fit it in - to continue to stay healthy, it was easy to let time slip away. Before joining Farrell's, I took a good look at myself in a mirror. The startling truth was that over the years I had let my own health and fitness slide and without even realizing it, I had gained 25 pounds. I was more out of shape than ever before. I was in a “slump” and I knew I had to get moving and get in control of my health once again. With the encouragement of friends who were fit members, I stepped out and gave Farrell’s a try.
Today, I am honored to work as a Hospice Nurse. As I see many people fight for "one more day", I am reminded that life is a gift from God. And, while there are many things in life that I may not have control over, prevention - which is pretty good medicine - is one thing that I CAN make a priority. Now, I am stronger and healthier than ever thought possible in my 40’s. I continue to appreciate the new challenges that each day brings with the variety of workouts that Farrell's offers. I am motivated by both the individual and team challenges as these personal victories inspire me to strive to be the best that I can be.
I sincerely enjoy the transformation process of members as they do things that they never thought they could or would ever do and then watch them reach out and help the person next to them. I am proud to be a part of the Farrell’s Family.
Today is the FIRST day of the rest of your life! Make it life-changing...Make it extraordinary!
Together, let’s keep reaching for level 10.
When an employee of mine begged me to do the 10-week challenge with her, I agreed, hoping to get back into the swing of things. The intense workouts and continuous challenges from my peers (many of whom have become great friends), have affected all aspects of my life. I am healthier, more thoughtful and focused, both in my business and personal life. I quickly began coaching after my 10-week challenge, and now I am an instructor and really digging it.
When I’m not at Farrell’s, I am busy running my strategic brand and communications firm, Mercury Creative Group. We help B2B brands, associations and nonprofits uncover ways to help influence their audiences to drive sales and engagement through strategic and memorable design communications. We help our clients meet their business goals. That may be why instructing is such a great fit for me. I love helping others achieve. In my business and in my life.
When I heard the news that a Farrell's was opening in Shoreview, I signed up that day! I'm proud to be able to say that I was part of the very 1st group of 10-weekers at the Shoreview location and it's been amazing to see the growth, as well as the "loss" in numbers ever since! Seeing the transformations and the lifestyle changes that our members make when they join Farrell's has been so great. I coached our 2nd session and from that point on, was hooked on helping other members along in their fitness journey. It took a little more convincing from Cindi, but eventually I became an instructor and can honestly say that as apprehensive as I was to do so, am so happy that she convinced me to instruct because it is truly something that I love to do!
Outside of Farrell's, I am an Interactive Project Manager at a software development agency in Lowertown St. Paul. My 15 year-old daughter, Afton, and I live in Arden Hills - less than a mile from Farrell's!
I look forward to finding my new Level 10 with each and every session, getting stronger with each and every challenge and reaching for new fitness goals as I make new friends and healthier choices along the way! This is why I live my life at LEVEL 10!
I joined Farrell's in January of 2015 at age 53. I had always exercised a lot, riding my bike over 2000 miles every summer, lifting free weights regularly, but I could never conquer the diet side of fitness. I had lost my will to be fit, had gained 20 pounds in a year, and was wearing out the recliner in front of the TV.
I bought into the Farrell's program 100%, and it paid off when I won the Male Fit Challenge! I dropped over 20 pounds and 4.5% body fat in this ten weeks, and have continued to maintain that weight - and increase my overall strength - in the year since. Farrell's has become my hobby and passion as I embrace both coaching and instructing as well as continuing to try and improve my fitness level even as I get older.
When I am not at Farrell's I enjoy spending time with my wife of 29 years, fishing in my canoe on Sunrise Lake in Blaine, and playing a dozen or so rounds of golf every summer. I love my lifelong career as a singer, musician, and business entertainer which takes me away from the gym most weekends. Farrell's has truly allowed me to live my life at level 10!
I am a father of two young kids and a dog. I joined Farrell's in April 2014 and somewhere in the middle of the first class, while dying on the mat, I realized I was hooked. In my 10 week session I went from 220 pounds down to 193. I felt stronger and wanted to find a way to grow at Farrell's. I started instructing strength classes in December 2014 and soon after started on kickboxing. I love instructing and helping the members get the most out of their workouts. I was asked once to instruct a class when I was visiting our Texas location.
Through Farrell's I have been able to improve myself in many aspects including building muscle and completing two marathons. But more than that I have had the privilege to meet some amazing people, cultivate new friendships and I am continually astounded and impressed by our member's transformation stories.
My sister and her best friend joined the first Farrell’s session in Shoreview, September 2013, and just raved about this new workout 6 days/week. They said it was grueling and that the owners, both women, were in amazing shape and that inspired them. It wasn’t long into the program that they both started to experience a lot of great changes and since I am always looking for a new challenge, I was curious to see what the program was about.
My fiancé at the time reluctantly said he would be my partner, but only for the 10 week session. We began our journey January 2014, as newlyweds, and still made it to the alter. Our lives have changed immensely over the past two years: married, 7 month old baby, instructor (taught my entire pregnancy) and coach for the past 1 ½ years, and my husband is now a 10 week coach.
Farrell’s is not just a place to work out, it’s a lifestyle, a support system, a family, challenging, inspiring…the list is endless and it keeps us coming back six days/week
